Dunkin' Donuts location at 2207 Missouri Blvd. will open the first week of November.
Dunkin' Donuts spokeswoman Lauren Bechard said in an email the combined Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robins location plans to hold a soft opening the first week of November followed by a grand opening the following week.
The store is starting to take shape. Recently a sign was installed, and the exterior was painted as the restaurant transformed from a Burger King to a Dunkin' Donuts restaurant.
Burger King closed the location in May, leaving its only location at 1923 Christy Drive. The company did not state a reason for closing the location at the time.
Dunkin' Donuts franchisee Anup Thakkar filed building permits with Jefferson City in June to renovate the interior of the building.
In 2015, he announced plans to open two stores in Columbia and one in Jefferson City. Thakkar opened his first Dunkin' Donuts in Columbia at 3100 S. Providence Road in May 2015. A second Dunkin' Donuts location opened last May. A third location in Columbia is in the planning phases.
