St. Louis-based auto dealer Jim Butler Auto Group recently bought Beck Motors in Freeburg and will move that dealership's assets to nearby Linn, according to a news release from the company.
Jim Butler Auto Group operates seven auto dealerships in St. Louis and Mid-Missouri, including a Chevrolet dealership in Linn (formerly Carroll-Rehma Motors, which Jim Butler purchased in October 2015) and an auto plaza and Chevrolet dealership in St. Louis.
The new dealership will be located next to Jim Butler Chevrolet in Linn at 317 W. Main St. on a 6-acre lot owned by the company. It will offer Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles, also adding commercial vehicles including Dodge Ram commercial trucks.
The new dealership will operate out of a temporary facility and open in September. Construction of a permanent facility is expected to be finished by February.
"We're looking forward to bringing some of America's most iconic brands to our Jim Butler family," said Brad Sowers, Jim Butler Auto Group Sowers co-owner, in the news release. "It's an exciting time for us and it will be an honor to serve our Mid-Missouri customers with these additional brands."
Keith Beck said in the news release the sale of his Freeburg dealership is bittersweet.
"It's been a great experience for our family, and we're proud to have been part of the Freeburg business community for 65 years," Beck said. "We'll miss our customers, and we're grateful for their loyalty."
