A new beauty salon celebrated its grand opening in Jefferson City this weekend.
House of Beauty, located at 1021 Southwest Blvd., Suite A, has been open for about a month and welcomed community members to tour its services in a party environment Saturday with giveaways, food and drinks, and free facials and makeovers.
"My slogan for the salon is 'How you look is how you feel,'" said owner Kathleen Medcalf. "It's a nice, professional, upscale salon."
Medcalf, who has worked as a hairstylist for 13 years and recently moved to Jefferson City from Illinois, is joined by two other stylists - a braider and a barber.
House of Beauty offers a full range of hair care services, including haircuts, styling, extensions and braiding, as well as lashes, pedicures, manicures and retail products. Medcalf is also a distributor for It Works products.
The salon is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and for extended hours by appointment. Walk-ins are welcome.
