Hastings Entertainment Inc. announced last week its parent company, Draw Another Circle, has applied for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The national retail chain sells new and used books, movies, music, video games and licensed memorabilia and has a Jefferson City location at 2233 Missouri Blvd.
The company has recently refreshed several Hastings stores across the country, according to a news release, and is seeking a buyer to purchase and continue the brand.
Hastings stores will operate as usual while the company seeks potential buyers, a process expected to take about 30 days, except for a few things that will affect local stores:
All Hastings gift cards expire July 13.
Game rentals will no longer be available.
Hastings will no longer accept nor honor customer deposits for future movie purchases. Existing deposits may be applied to other merchandise in the store.
Hastings' buyback program has been suspended.
