Construction has begun for Jefferson City's first IHOP.
The international pancake and breakfast restaurant chain is constructing a new building at 2011 Missouri Blvd., between Harbor Freight and Verizon, near the corner of Missouri Boulevard and Dix Road.
Local franchisee Cameron Dunafon, of Dunafon Management Inc., anticipates the restaurant will open this fall, said Alex Levin, IHOP communications specialist.
Plans for the new IHOP restaurant were submitted to Jefferson City's Planning and Protective Services Division in March.
Currently the closest IHOP to Jefferson City is in Columbia.
