Express Care of JCMG opens Monday

Beginning Monday, residents on Jefferson City's east end will have a new walk-in clinic designed to treat immediate, non-emergent health concerns.

Express Care of JCMG will open its doors at 7 a.m. Monday at 1735 Elm Court. The clinic will be staffed to treat minor fevers, coughs, colds, flu, cuts, burns, sprains, sore throats, earaches, headaches, seasonal allergies and more, according to a news release.

Patients can walk in to be seen 7 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and most holidays. An appointment is not necessary.

"We're excited to bring an extension of the high-quality health care offered at JCMG to the east end of town. We studied several possible locations throughout the community and felt this would make the biggest impact to the greatest number of residents," said Melissa Astin, JCMG vice president of operations, in the news release. "We're also pleased to offer a cost-effective, same-day option for care. Patients can expect an office visit co-pay at the time of service compared to a greater fee charged by Urgent Care clinics."

JCMG's Extended Care, located inside the JCMG Medical Building, will also become Express Care of JCMG effective Monday. The hours will remain the same, 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and most holidays.

A grand opening celebration for Express Care will be at 9 a.m. Sept. 10 at 1735 Elm Court. The public is invited to enjoy refreshments, health screenings, games and giveaways.
