BizBeat: Select Physical Therapy relocating

Select Physical Therapy will move its longtime Jefferson City clinic this month.

Located at 1431 Southwest Blvd. for more than a decade, the outpatient physical therapy clinic soon will operate at 2701 W. Edgewood Drive, Suite 105.

Dick Otke Construction currently is finishing a conversion of the space that most recently housed Red Wheel Bike Shop, before it moved to West Main Street, into a physical therapy office.

"It's actually a smaller space, but it's more efficient use of the smaller space," said Tony Brenneke, center manager and treating clinician at Select Physical Therapy. "We're building it out to fit our therapy needs."

The new location also offers better street visibility and patient parking.

"The handicap spots are right up next to the building, so it's really convenient for patients with limited mobility," Brenneke said.

The move comes with equipment upgrades, including strength training, aerobic and modality equipment.

The relocation is scheduled to occur on Dec. 16, with a Dec. 19 opening at the new clinic.

The Jefferson City clinic offers the services of two physical therapists: Brenneke, who is a master of physical therapy and licensed as an orthopedic clinical specialist, and Amber Alexander, who is licensed as a doctor of physical therapy.

Select Physical Therapy's parent company is Select Medical Corporation, which operates about 100 hospitals and 1,500 outpatient physical therapy clinics across the United States.
