Woman arrested after Thursday night car chase into Jefferson City

The Holts Summit and Jefferson City police departments took a female suspect into custody Thursday after a brief car chase.

According to a release from the Holts Summit Police Department, an unnamed female driver was seen by a Holts Summit officer at 8:35 p.m. Thursday driving east in the westbound lanes of U.S. 54 at Center Street in Holts Summit. As the officer tried to catch up with her, she did a U-turn in the driving lanes of the highway.

The officer stopped her 1.5 miles south of Center St. on U.S. 54 west and, while talking with her, observed that she appeared intoxicated. She then restarted her car and fled the scene while officers were trying to get her to exit the car.

Two Holts Summit officers pursued her into Jefferson City and, with the help of the JCPD, stopped her car in the 800 block of Missouri Boulevard where she was arrested pending charges for driving while intoxicated, driving while suspended/revoked, careless and imprudent driving, resisting arrest and several other traffic offenses.
