Pacific edges Helias in baseball

PACIFIC, Mo. — The Pacific Tigers scored the game’s lone run in the bottom of the seventh inning Wednesday in taking a 1-0 win against the Helias Crusaders.

The Tigers used a single and a hit-batter to put runners at first and second with nobody out in the seventh. Later in the inning, a Tiger batter bunted and the ensuing throw hit him, allowing a run to score.

Josiah Imhoff went the distance for Helias, tossing a four-hitter. He struck out four.

Alex Faddoul had two hits to lead the Crusaders.

Helias had an opportunity to score in the first, but had a run taken off the board on batter’s interference call.

Helias (13-8) will host St. Dominic today at the American Legion Post 5 Sports Complex. The junior varsity game will start at 4 p.m., followed by Senior Day activities and the varsity contest.
