Lincoln’s Hall honored by MIAA in track

Jhevere Hall of Lincoln has been selected as the MIAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week.

Hall set two of the conference’s fastest times of the season in events last week at the Drake Relays.

• Hall’s time of 2:09.88 in the 800-meter run is the eighth best in Division II this season. She was eighth in the event at the Relays.

• Hall teamed with Ebony Rose, Kimona Shaw and Kissi-Ann Brown to win the 4x400-meter relay in 3:42.94, the seventh-best in Division II this year.

The Lincoln men’s and women’s track and field teams will take part in the MIAA Outdoor Championships this weekend in Maryville.

In rankings released Tuesday by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association, the Lincoln women are No. 9 in the country while the men are No. 24.

The Lincoln women are one of four MIAA teams ranked. Pittsburg State is No. 5 and Central Missouri is No. 6. Missouri Southern is in at No. 15.

There are four MIAA men’s teams in the top 25. Central Missouri is No. 7, while Missouri Southern is 11th and Pittsburg State is 17th.
