Elston man pleads guilty in burglary

An Elston man pleaded guilty in Cole County court to an amended charge in connection with a March 2015 burglary.

Tyler Cassady, 26, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor trespassing and was placed on two years unsupervised probation.

He had been charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

Court documents state the burglary occurred in the 2000 block of West Main Street. The glass to the rear deck door was broken to gain entry. Two rifles, multiple Blu-Ray discs, a surround sound system and a laptop computer were taken.

Authorities were told the items taken were being stored at a storage unit in the 1900 block of Northwood Road where they were recovered.
