Lincoln women win event at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa — The Lincoln women captured the title in the 4x400-meter relay to highlight the performances for the Blue Tigers at the Drake Relays that concluded Saturday.

The team of Ebony Rose, Kimona Shaw, Jhevere Hall and Kissi-Ann Brown won with a time of 3:43.20 to top three other squads in the finals.

The Lincoln women placed in two other relays. The foursome of Shaw, Venicha Baker, Kimberly Bailey and Diana Cauldwell was second in the 4x200 in 1:38.35. The 4x100 squad of Baker, Bailey Caldwell and Chrisdale McCarthy was third in 46.30.

Hall led the Lincoln women in individual events, taking eighth in the 800-meter run (2:09.88).

On the men’s side, Lincoln’s 4x100-meter relay team took second.

The foursome of Roberto Smith, Roger Blake, Miguel Barton and Stephen Rose finished with a time of 40.88.

The same squad took third in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:24.08.

Jeromia Riley led Lincoln individuals by taking eighth in the 800-meter run (2:00.29).

Lincoln is back in action starting Friday in the MIAA Outdoor Championships in Maryville. The event will run through Sunday.
