The Helias Crusaders were happy to get some work in.

To pick up three victories in Tuesday's trio of three-inning Jamboree contests at Vivion Field was just an added bonus.

"It was nice to get back out on the field," Helias coach Chris Wyrick said.

Helias was a 3-2 winner against Blair Oaks in its first action of the Jamboree.

Cole Fennewald had a hit and an RBI in the contest for the Crusaders, while Clayton Winter allowed a run on two hits in two innings on the mound.

Helias then defeated Fatima 1-0 as Alex Faddoul drove in the lone run with a double.

Tyler Cassmeyer worked two innings on the mound, allowing one hit and two walks while striking out three.

Helias closed the action Tuesday night with a 4-1 decision against Jefferson City.

Matthew Dampf had a double and drove in two runs for the Crusaders in the contest.

Cole Johnson pitched two innings, allowing three hits while striking out two.

The Crusaders were happy to get some work in at the plate under game conditions.

"We saw some different pitchers, which is good for our hitters," Wyrick said. "We learned a few things tonight, learned what we need to work on before the season gets started."

Helias will open the regular season Tuesday at Fatima.

"It will be good to get the season started," Wyrick said.

The varsity game is slated to start at 5 p.m. in Westphalia.
