Multi-vehicle crash injures 3 at U.S. 50 and Missouri Blvd.

A four-vehicle crash injured three people and caused traffic delays during Friday morning's rush to work in Jefferson City.

The accident occurred shortly before 7 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. 50/63 and Missouri Boulevard.

Police report Matthew Jackson, 22, Holts Summit, was driving a Dodge Caravan westbound when he failed to stop for a red light at the intersection. The Caravan veered across westbound lanes and crossed over the raised median into the opposing eastbound left-turn lane where it struck two vehicles that were stopped there.

The Caravan first hit a Chevrolet Trailblazer on the driver's side and then struck a Ford Escape head on, which pushed the Ford into a Honda Pilot behind it.

Jackson and a passenger in the Escape, 16-year-old Blake Savage of Jefferson City, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, while the driver of the Trailblazer, 31-year-old Sarah Stegeman of Jefferson City, was taken by private vehicle to see a doctor. Police listed all three with minor injuries.

Kimberly Myers, 41, California, driving the Honda, and Andrea Tyree, 43, Jefferson City, driving the Ford, were listed as uninjured.

All occupants in the vehicles were wearing seat belts.
