An Iberia couple has won a $3.3 million jackpot from the Missouri Lottery by matching the winning Lotto numbers drawn on Feb. 24.

Stanley and Sandra Wieberg have lived in Iberia and worked in Jefferson City for several decades, and have been playing the lottery during that time too.

Stanley said karma might have had something to do with their luck.

On the day Stanley bought the winning ticket, a mechanic who was working on his car accidentally left an expensive power tool in the vehicle. Stanley, a former mechanic himself, discovered the tool later and returned it to the dealership.

"We took it back, and I guess that's the reason," he exclaimed. "Maybe doing the good deed paid off."

The pair found out they were winners when one of their daughters shared that a winning ticket had been sold at C & D Market, located at 722 Highway 52 in St. Elizabeth.

"I texted her back and said, "I wonder who that was. It must be nice," recalled Sandra.

"What were the numbers?" asked Stanley.

Sandra pulled up the numbers on MOLottery.com.

"I started reading the first couple," said Sandra. "Then he started naming the rest. I'm like, "How do you know?'"

"Because they're here on this ticket," replied Stanley.

C & D Market received a $5,000 bonus for selling the winning jackpot ticket. The winning Lotto numbers for Feb. 24 were: 1, 3, 8, 13, 25 and 32.

Sandra works part-time for the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, but she is considering full retirement now. She and Stanley plan to travel and pay bills with their winnings. Their other plans include fixing up Stanley's first car, a 1964 Falcon.

Stanley said he'll continue to the play the lottery.
