Helias downs Logan-Rogersville to finish second

While Helias JV takes first at JV tourney

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders finished the Logan-Rogersville Tournament with a 2-1 basketball record after a 54-41 win against the host Wildcats on Saturday.

Helias finished second in the round-robin event.

The Wildcats led 12-10 after the first quarter and the score was tied at 21 at halftime. The Crusaders were able to take a 37-30 lead into the fourth quarter.

Sam Husting led Helias with 20 points. Landon Harrison had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists. Trevor Koelling nearly had a double-double for the Crusaders, finishing with 10 points and nine boards.

The Helias varsity (12-7) is off until Saturday when it hosts Blair Oaks in the Central Bank Shootout. Game time is 7:30 p.m.

In the JV tourney, Helias went 3-0 to take first after besting Logan-Rogersville 46-36 on Saturday.

Nick Brandt led Helias with 13 points. Alex Buschjost and Drew Boessen scored 12 and 10, respectively.

The Helias JV (8-5) will play in its home tournament at 6 p.m. Monday against Camdenton.
