ELDON, Mo. - The California Lady Pintos upset the No. 1 team in Class 4 on Friday, beating Carl Junction 38-33 in the semifinals of the Eldon Tournament.
California trailed the 15-1 Lady Bulldogs 8-13 after one quarter but sunk five 3s in the second quarter to pull ahead 19-18. The Lady Pintos entered the fourth quarter up 28-26, and Elizabeth Lutz iced the game with three of her four 3s. Lutz scored a team-high 18 points.
California (10-7) plays Eldon today in the tournament championship game. Eldon beat Fox 52-49 on Friday to advance.
