Your Opinion: Looking at the historical evidence

Dear Editor:

There is an organized terror attack on the U.S. which is orchestrated by homegrown and foreign entities. Rather than cracking down on the Muslim extremists, President Obama believes that global warming and guns are the problem. Criticism of Islam in the west was renewed after the September 11 attacks and other terrorist attacks in the 21st century.

Objects of criticism include the Muslim refugees' refusal to conform and assimilate into the host countries' culture, and the cowardly acts of terrorism motivated by radical Islam.

In a 2007 interview, Ayaan Hirsi Ali described Islam as an "enemy that needs to be defeated before peace can be achieved." From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

Criticism of Muhammad has existed since the seventh century when Muhammad approved militarism (jihad) and turned Islam into a powerful war machine. He ordered anyone who opposed him to be executed or thrown into prison. Within 100 years they built an empire that stretched from northern Spain to India, including the lands of Palestine, Syria and Egypt. The Muslims threatened Western Europe until Charles Martel defeated them at the Battle of Tours, France in 732.

"The power which has always started the greatest religious and political avalanches in history rolling has from time immortal been the magic power of the spoken word and that alone." Adolf Hitler from Mein Kampf.

Feminist writer Ayaan Hirsi Ali has called Muhammad a tyrant and a pervert. The Dutch Party for Freedom leader Geert Wilders calls Muhammad a "Mass Murderer and a pedophile." From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

"Muhammad himself had at least 15 and perhaps as many as 25 wives the youngest of whom, Aisha, was only 7 years old when given to the Prophet in marriage (and only nine when the marriage was consummated.) Muhammad's last recorded words were a curse upon Jews and Christians in contrast to Christ's words of forgiveness toward his executioners ..." Rev. Joseph N. Esper "Defiance.'

Historical evidence shows Muhammad was far from morally perfect and that there's no good reason to believe that he was sent by God. While the primary source of Islamic doctrine is the Quran and it tells us practically nothing about Muhammad. To learn about Muhammad we must turn to the Hadith and Sire literature. "A good life is the only religion." Thomas Fuller.
