A new East High Street tenant is in the business of sharing trade secrets.
House Flipping Pros, at 425 E. High St. in Jefferson City, is offering classes on how to rehab and sell houses and make money in real estate.
Owner Ray Ferguson has worked part time in real estate and house-flipping for the past three years.
"Over the last three years I've bought and sold over $2 million in properties," he said. "I've taught some people how to do what I do, and they're already on their second and third properties, where they never thought real estate was going to be an option for them."
Ferguson said his classes teach how to get started in real estate, buy houses at an auction or elsewhere, fund property deals and save money throughout the rehab process.
"The biggest thing is how to think like an investor first," rather than as a customer, he said.
Ferguson is so confident in his methods that he's offering his two- to three-hour introductory class for free. Students who want to learn more can return for one- or two-day classes at prices of $239 or $499, respectively. Military and college student discounts are available.
