MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Ethan Happ scored underneath the basket with 10 seconds left and Wisconsin beat No. 4 Michigan State 77-76 on Sunday.
The Spartans had a final chance to win but Denzel Valentine missed a 3-pointer and Matt Costello's last-second side jumper bounced off the rim.
Bronson Koenig scored 27 points and Nigel Hayes added 25 for the Badgers (10-9, 2-4 Big Ten), who trailed 76-72 after Valentine hit a runner for the Spartans (16-3, 3-3). Koenig hit a 3-pointer with Valentine in his face and the shot clock winding down to pull Wisconsin within 76-75 with 27 seconds left.
The Badgers went to a full-court press for the first time in the game, and forced a turnover as Eron Harris stepped out of bounds while double-teamed.
With the clock winding down, Koenig found Happ for the winning basket.
Valentine led Michigan State with 23 points, while Costello added 18.
No. 10 SMU 60, TULANE 45
Markus Kennedy scored 13 points and SMU overcame uncharacteristically poor shooting to pull away late to remain the nation's only unbeaten Division I team.
Jordan Tolbert and Nic Moore scored 12 points each for the Mustangs (17-0, 6-0 American Athletic Conference), who shot a season-worst 40.4 percent (21 of 52) and did not take the lead for good until Ben Moore's running floater as he was fouled made it 33-30 with 12:41 to go.
Melvin Frazier scored 11 points and Malik Morgan had 10 for Tulane (8-11, 1-5), which has lost five of its last six games.
Ben Moore finished with 11 points for SMU, which went 1 of 10 from 3-point range, but made up for it by outscoring Tulane 32-16 in the paint.
FLORIDA STATE 69, No. 13 VIRGINIA 62
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Dwayne Bacon scored 18 points and Florida State broke a five-game losing streak against ranked teams.
The Seminoles (12-5, 2-3 ACC) trailed 39-36 early in the second half, but took control with a 12-3 run as Malik Beasley had five points.
London Parrantes led Virginia (13-4, 2-3) with 19 points.
No. 16 IOWA 82, MICHIGAN 71
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) - Jarrod Uthoff scored 23 points and Iowa is off to its first 5-0 start in the Big Ten in 19 years.
Peter Jok had 14 of his 16 points in the second half for the surging Hawkeyes (14-3, 5-0), who have won seveb straight games.
Iowa broke open a tight game with a 16-3 run midway through the second half, and Jok buried a 3-pointer that made it 76-68 with 2:34 left.
Derrick Walton Jr. had 16 points for Michigan (13-5, 3-2). The Wolverines played their fourth straight game without star Caris LeVert, who was out with a left leg injury.
Iowa was coming off a 76-59 win at No. 4 Michigan State on Tuesday.
