Two injured in Jefferson City wreck Saturday

The Jefferson City Police Department responded to a two-vehicle accident Saturday afternoon that left two drivers with minor injuries, according to a department press release.

Bryant Swehla, 25, of Jefferson City, who drove a 1998 Ford Escort, rear-ended the 2001 Honda Civic driver Karema Howard, 31, of Jefferson City, as she started moving eastbound at a green light on U.S. 50 near Broadway Street.

An ambulance transported Howard to a local hospital.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and the drivers were wearing seatbelts.
