NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Tiffany Mitchell scored a season-high 22 points and second-ranked South Carolina preserved its perfect start by holding off Vanderbilt 71-61 on Thursday night.
The Gamecocks (14-0, 2-0) won their seventh straight against Vanderbilt, keeping them just one of three undefeated Division I women's teams in the nation along with top-ranked Connecticut and No. 4 Texas.
A'ja Wilson, the Gamecocks' leading scorer and fourth in the SEC averaging 17.2 points per game, had a season-low four points. Tina Roy added 13 points, Alaina Coates 11 and Khadijah Sessions 10.
Rebekah Dahlman led Vanderbilt (11-4, 0-2) with 14 points.
NO. 3 NOTRE DAME 74, VIRGINIA 46
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) - Brianna Turner had 19 points and nine rebounds and Notre Dame routed Virginia.
Marina Mabrey added 15 points and fellow freshman Aike Ogunbowale had 13 to help the Fighting Irish (14-1, 3-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) win their seventh in a row.
Mikayla Venson scored 17 points to lead Virginia (11-5, 1-1). The Cavaliers shot just 30 percent (16 of 54) and were dominated inside. Notre Dame finished with a 38-4 advantage scoring in the paint and won the rebounding battle 45-28, including an 18-2 edge in second-chance points.
NO. 5 OHIO STATE 97, INDIANA 70
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Kelsey Mitchell and Shayla Cooper each scored 23 points and Ohio State beat Indiana for its seventh straight win.
The Buckeyes (11-3, 3-0 Big Ten) fell behind 18-10 in the first quarter before taking over. Ahead by 12, they outscored Indiana 30-15 in the fourth period.
Tyra Buss led Indiana (9-6, 1-2) with 19 points, and Amanda Cahill had 17 points and 10 rebounds.
NO. 7 MISSISSIPPI STATE 60, AUBURN 45
STARKVILLE, Miss. (AP) - Victoria Vivians had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Mississippi State used a stellar defensive performance to beat Auburn.
Mississippi State (15-1, 2-0 Southeastern Conference) limited Auburn (11-4, 1-1) to 22.2 percent shooting from the field during a game-changing second quarter. The Bulldogs held Auburn without a field goal over the first 8:39 of the period and allowed only five points.
Tra'Cee Tanner had 15 points for Auburn.
NO. 8 MARYLAND 89, NEBRASKA 50
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) - Malina Howard scored 15 points and Maryland routed Nebraska.
Maryland rebounded from losses to No. 1 UConn and No. 5 Ohio State last week. The setback to the Buckeyes snapped the Terrapins' 31-game winning streak against Big Ten foes dating to 2007.
Brene Moseley added 14 points, and Brionna Jones and Shatori Walker-Kimbrough each had 11 for Maryland (13-2, 2-1 Big Ten). Allie Havers and Maddie Simon each had nine points for Nebraska (9-5, 0-3).
NO. 10 KENTUCKY 73, ALABAMA 48
LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Evelyn Akhator scored a career-high 21 points and Kentucky beat Alabama.
Coming off a 66-61 loss to Auburn to open Southeastern Conference play Sunday, the Wildcats (12-1, 1-1) bounced back to remain undefeated at home at 9-0. Alexis Jennings added 12 points, and Janee Thompson, Makayla Epps and Maci Morris each had 10.
Karyla Middlebrook led Alabama (12-3, 1-1) with 12 points.
FLORIDA 74, NO. 12 TENNESSEE 66
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Eleanna Christinaki had 18 points, eight assists and six rebounds and Florida overcame coach Amanda Butler's absence to beat Tennessee.
Butler missed the game because of a family emergency, and assistant Shimmy Gray-Miller served as acting head coach for the Gators (13-2, 1-1 Southestern Conference).
Diamond DeShields scored 16 points for Tennessee (10-4, 1-1), and Bashaara Graves had a career-high 19 rebounds.
ARKANSAS 67, NO. 13 TEXAS A&M 61
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Devin Cosper scored 18 points and Arkansas won for the first time over former coach Gary Blair.
The win was the first in six tries against Blair for the Razorbacks (6-9, 1-1 Southeastern Conference). They were coming off a 53-point loss at No. 2 South Carolina.
Jessica Jackson added 17 points. Courtney Walker had 24 points for Texas A&M (11-4, 1-1).
PURDUE 85, NO. 16 NORTHWESTERN 71
EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) - Bridget Perry had 21 points and nine rebounds and Purdue held off Northwestern fot its seventh straight victory.
Andreona Keys added 18 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Boilermakers (12-2, 3-0 Big Ten). April Wilson and Ashley Morrissette added 14 points each.
Maggie Lyon had 24 points for Northwestern (12-3, 1-2).
NO. 18 DUKE 95, WAKE FOREST 68
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Azura Stevens scored 23 points and Rebecca Greenwell added 21 points and nine rebounds to help Duke beat Wake Forest for the 44th consecutive time.
Greenwell hit five 3-pointers. Angela Salvadores added 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range for Duke (12-4, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference).
Ariel Stephenson scored 17 points for Wake Forest (9-6, 0-2).

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Leticia Romero hit back-to-back 3-pointers and Emiah Bingley added a third as Florida State opened with an 11-0 run against Boston College
Romero finished with 14 points, seven rebounds, four assists and three steals for the Seminoles (11-4, 1-1 Atlantic Coast Conference). Shakayla Thomas also had 14 points.
Mariella Fasoula scored 13 points for Boston College (11-2, 0-2).

ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Jordan Frericks had 11 points and a key block with 7 seconds left and Missouri made four free throws in the final 4 seconds.
Cierra Porter had 11 points, including three of the late free throws, to help the Tigers (14-1, 1-1 Southeastern Conference) bounced back from their first loss of the season.
Tiaria Griffin had 14 points for Georgia (12-3, 0-2).

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - Kitija Laksa scored a career-high 38 points for South Florida.
Laksa, a freshman from Latvia, was 15 of 24 from the field, including 8 of 12 on 3-point attempts. Laura Ferreira added 12 points and 12 rebounds for the Bulls (11-3, 4-0 American).
McKenzie Adams had 20 points for SMU (6-9, 1-3).
NO. 23 MICHIGAN STATE 71, PENN STATE 55
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) - Aerial Powers and Tori Jankoska each had 21 points and 10 rebounds to hgelp Michigan State beat Penn State.
The Spartans (11-3, 2-1 Big Ten) never trailed, opening with a 16-6 run and leading by double digits throughout the second half. Teniya Page had 16 points for the Nittany Lions (6-8, 1-2).
