Dear Editor:
In the Jan. 3 newspaper an article advised us that the city is considering changes to ordinances affecting how pets, mainly dogs, are cared for by their owners. These changes are not required nor welcomed.
Existing laws penalize those who are cruel to animals, and this effort is an obvious intrusion into our private lives. Additionally, the reported ordinance changes are vague and arbitrary.
If the city has the personnel and time to enforce such ordinances, the city is obviously over-staffed.
