Westminster campus evacuated; suspicious item found to be harmless

Westminster College in Fulton evacuated a section of their campus Monday afternoon after a suspicious object was reported by a student in an area parking lot.

The Fulton Police Department was called immediately, and Westminster security began evacuating freshmen students living in The Quad residence halls. Students, faculty and staff in the Mueller Leadership Hall or Champ Auditorium were evacuated to the Hunter Activity Center.

Officials sealed off to all traffic at Seventh Street.

By approximately 4:30 p.m., an all-clear was given as the object was found to be harmless.

One section of the campus of Westminster College in Fulton has been evacuated after a suspicious object was reported by a student in an area parking lot.

The Fulton Police Department was called immediately, and Westminster security began evacuating the area. At the present time, law enforcement authorities are working to determine the nature of the device.

Freshmen students living in The Quad residence halls and any students, faculty and staff in the Mueller Leadership Hall or Champ Auditorium have been evacuated to the Hunter Activity Center.

The area has been sealed off to all traffic at Seventh Street.
