DALLAS (AP) - Tyler Seguin scored twice during a four-goal second period and the Dallas Stars held off the Washington Capitals 4-3 in a battle between two of the NHL's top teams on Saturday night.
Washington leads the Eastern Conference, and Dallas began the night one point behind Chicago for the Western Conference lead.
Seguin has 30 goals this season. Jamie Benn scored his 29th, and rookie Mattias Janmark started the scoring with his 11th.
Alex Ovechkin, Justin Williams and Andre Burakovsky scored for Washington in the third period. Ovechkin's league-leading 35th came on the power play.
Capitals goalie Braden Holtby lost in regulation for just the second time since Nov. 12. Philipp Grubauer replaced Holtby in the third period and made 10 saves.
Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen stopped 20 shots. Holtby had 21 saves.
DUCKS 3, BLACKHAWKS 2, OT
CHICAGO (AP) - Ryan Getzlaf scored a power-play goal at 2:16 of overtime, lifting Anaheim over Chicago.
Cam Fowler's shot was stopped by Corey Crawford, but Getzlaf poked the rebound under the sliding goaltender. Getzlaf's sixth goal of the season came with Andrew Shaw serving a bench minor for too many men on the ice.
Jakob Silfverberg and David Perron scored in the third period for Anaheim, which dropped the first two games of the season series against Chicago in overtime. Frederik Anderson made five saves after John Gibson departed after two periods with an upper-body injury.
Blackhawks forward Marian Hossa left with a left leg injury in the second period of Chicago's third consecutive loss. The defending Stanley Cup champions dropped to 4-6 since their franchise-record 12-game win streak.
Defenseman Brent Seabrook had two goals for Chicago, which has dropped three in a row.
BRUINS 4, WILD 2
ST. PAUL, Minn. - David Krejci broke a tie in the second period and Jonas Gustavsson made 31 saves to help Boston beat Minnesota.
Minnesota fired coach Mike Yeo after the game and promoted John Torchetti from their Iowa affiliate in the American Hockey League as interim coach.
The Wild have lost seven in a row and 13 of 14. They tied the longest home winless streak in franchise history at eight games (0-5-3).
Krejci added an assist in Boston's sixth straight road victory. The Bruins are second in the NHL with 39 road points.
Brad Marchand, Loui Eriksson and Zdeno Chara also scored for Boston. Marchand has scored in six straight games and has 12 goals in his last 12 games.
Thomas Vanek and Mike Reilly scored for Minnesota, and Darcy Kuemper made 15 saves.
PREDATORS 5, PANTHERS 0
SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) - Backup goaltender Carter Hutton made 22 saves and Calle Jarnkrok scored twice to lead Nashville over Florida.
Miikka Salomaki, James Neal and Shea Weber also scored for Nashville.
Playing in just his ninth game in place of starter Pekka Rinne, Hutton ran his record to 6-2-1 and picked up his second shutout.
Florida dropped the first two games of its six-game homestand, which it continues Monday against Pittsburgh.
Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo made 23 saves in his second straight loss.
Both teams were coming off losses Friday night.
Mike Ribeiro and Roman Josi had two assists each, and Neal, Austin Watson, Anthony Bitetto, Ryan Johansen and Roman Josi had one each.
SHARKS 4, COYOTES 1
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Matt Tennyson and Chris Tierney scored in the first period and San Jose hung on to beat Arizona.
Tomas Hertl and Joonas Donskoi also scored for the Sharks, who improved to 6-0-3 at home since a 2-8 mark in their previous 10 contests.
Martin Jones stopped 22 of 23 shots for his second straight win. He's 10-2-2 over his past 14 games. Melker Karlsson and Brent Burns each had two assists for San Jose.
Martin Hanzal scored for the Coyotes, who lost their fifth in six games against San Jose. Louis Domingue saved 24 of 27 shots but fell to 1-4-1 in his last six games.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Adam Henrique scored on a power play 2:58 into overtime to lift New Jersey past Philadelphia.
Joseph Blandisi scored in regulation, and Cory Schneider made 31 saves for the Devils. They snapped a three-game road losing streak to improve to 7-2-2 in their last 11 games.
Shayne Gostisbehere scored for the Flyers to set a club record for rookies with a point in 11 straight games.
HURRICANES 6, ISLANDERS 3
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - Victor Rask scored twice to cap Carolina's five-goal second period and the Hurricanes beat New York.
Riley Nash, Noah Hanifin, Kris Versteeg, and Andrej Nestrasil also scored for Carolina, which was celebrating the 10-year anniversary of its 2006 Stanley Cup season. Jordan Staal and Phillip Di Giuseppe each had two assists.
John Tavares got New York on the scoreboard with his team-leading 21st goal with 6:14 left in the middle period, and Nick Leddy's power-play score made it 4-2 a little more than 90 seconds later.
Matt Martin scored in the third period for the Islanders, who snapped a three-game winning streak.
MAPLE LEAFS 5, CANUCKS 2
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Mark Arcobello scored his first two goals of the season 17 seconds apart, Brendan Leipsic got his first NHL goal in his first game and Toronto beat Vancouver to end a three-game skid.
James Reimer made 17 saves and Jake Gardiner added two assists for Toronto. Brad Boyes and Leo Komarov added empty-netters.
Daniel Sedin and Sven Baertschi scored for Vancouver, which had won two in a row to get back in the Western Conference playoff race after dropping four straight. Ryan Miller made 33 saves.
JETS 2, OILERS 1, SO
EDMONTON, Alberta (AP) - Andrew Ladd scored the winner in the shootout to lift Winnipeg over Edmonton.
Blake Wheeler scored in regulation and again in the shootout for the Jets, who have won three of their last four. Ondrej Pavelec stopped 21 shots in his first start since Nov. 2 after missing 33 games with a knee injury.
Matt Hendricks had the tying short-handed goal in the third period for the Oilers, who have lost four of their last five games.
Edmonton goalie Laurent Brossoit had 32 saves in his second NHL start.
BLUE JACKETS 4, SENATORS 2
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Boone Jenner scored twice, Cam Atkinson and Brandon Saad each had goals and Columbus beat Ottawa.
Seth Jones had two assists and Joonas Korpisalo made 33 saves for Columbus. Atkinson also had an assist while the last-place Blue Jackets won for the fourth time in five games.
Cody Ceci and Bobby Ryan scored for Ottawa, and Craig Anderson stopped 36 of 39 shots. The Senators have lost three straight.
