Repeat DWI offender found guilty by Cole County jury

A Cole County jury has found a repeat DWI offender guilty of DWI and assault on a law enforcement officer.

Cole County Prosecutor Mark Richardson said Lisa Loesch, 53, is a persistent DWI offender having pled guilty or been found guilty of two prior DWI offenses which makes the persistent offense a felony.

The two prior DWI's were from Cole County in 2003 and Branson in 1999.

The case the jury found Loesch guilty in took place in January 2015, at a parking lot at 2101 Schotthill Woods Drive where Loesch bumped into another car.

After she was arrested, Loesch became belligerent with the Jefferson City Police Officer who arrested her and she refused to give a blood sample under Missouri law.

The arresting officer applied for an received a search warrant to get the blood sample drawn and results of the blood by the Missouri Highway Patrol lab found Loesch had a blood alcohol content of .16 percent, which is over two times the legal limit of .08 percent.

The jury found Loesch guilty of misdemeanor assault of a law officer for kicking the arresting officer in the leg.

Loesch is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
