4-vehicle crash leaves 2 injured

Two people were hurt in a four-vehicle accident Monday afternoon in Jefferson City.

Police reports show the accident occurred at 2:34 p.m. at U.S. 50 and Madison Street.

A vehicle driven by Eric Schrimpf, 26, of Jefferson City, was going west on U.S. 50, entering the intersection at Madison.

A vehicle driven by Neil Hegerfeld, 63, of California, was going south on Madison, heading into the intersection at U.S. 50.

The two vehicles collided, forcing Schrimpf's vehicle to cross into the eastbound lanes of U.S. 50.

Schrimpf's vehicle struck a one driven by Linda Mejia, 33, of Jefferson City, and another vehicle driven by Kevin Cox, 43, of Linn, both of whom were stopped in eastbound U.S. 50 traffic.

Hegerfeld and his passenger, Catherine Hegerfeld, 58, of California, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

All others involved in the crash had no reported injuries, and everyone involved was wearing a seat belt.
