Missouri football adds JUCO transfer

Missouri added a member to its 2016 recruiting class Thursday with the signing of junior-college transfer Jack Lowary.

Lowary comes to the Tigers from Long Beach (Calif.) City College where he threw for 3,306 yards last season as a freshman. He completed 53.3 percent of his passes and had 28 passing touchdowns on 13 interceptions. He also ran for two touchdowns.

Lowary (6-foot-4, 215 pounds) comes from Mater Dei High School in Santa Ana, Calif. He is the second quarterback in Missouri's 2016 class, joining Micah Wilson of Lincoln Christian School in Tulsa, Okla.

Missouri has just two quarterbacks returning from the 2015 team: starter Drew Lock and presumed backup Marvin Zanders, both rising sophomores.

Rising senior Maty Mauk was dismissed from the team recently following his third suspension of the school year and Eddie Printz plans to transfer for his junior season.
