Track and Field: Jays, Lady Jays both finish second

ST. LOUIS — The Jefferson City Jays and Lady Jays both finished second Saturday in the Ladue Invitational.

On the boys side, Jefferson City amassed 79 points to finish behind Lafayette: Wildwood’s total of 111.

Dennis Barnes led the way for the Jays by picking up victories in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles. The other Jay to win an event was Mason York in the pole vault.

On the girls side, Hazelwood Central racked up 126 points to win and the Lady Jays were next with 82.

Jefferson City’s winners were Rachel Holt in the pole vault and Jessica Rhoads in the javelin.
