A sweet, comical event returns to local church

Tickets still are available for the second showing of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church presentation of “Sweet Live! Dessert Comedy Theater” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Jefferson City.

This second showing was added after an early showing was sold out.

It’s a fun evening of clean, family-friendly comedy and music while indulging in an array of scrumptious desserts. This is an event for families, friends, co-workers and neighbors to enjoy together.

The show is presented by comedian Scott Davis, a nationally known Christian performer. He has his own special brand of humor, which is guaranteed to have people laughing all evening through a 90-minute performance. Davis has performed on television and stage with Mark Lowry, Dennis Swanberg and Mark Hall, of Casting Crowns. Also, his comedy shows have delighted hundreds of thousands of people across the U.S. and abroad. He is a 1979 graduate of Liberty University. He is also the author of the memoir, “If My Body is a Temple, Then I was a Megachurch,” which was published and released nationwide in 2011.

Tickets are $10 per adult in advance or $15 at the door. Kids high school age and younger are free. Tickets are available online and also at Divinity Bible Store and Samuel’s Tuxedos and Gifts.

Doors open at 8:15 p.m. for the 8:30 p.m. show. After dessert, everyone will be ushered into the sanctuary, and Davis’ show starts at 9 p.m. sharp.

Free childcare is available for younger kids.

The event is being co-sponsored by House of Prayer Family Church and Christian Fellowship Church.
