Shooting incident leads to arrest, no injuries

Three people were arrested after a shots fired incident Tuesday afternoon in Jefferson City.

Police reports show the shooting occurred after 1 p.m. in the 800 block of East Elm Street.

The investigation found one adult and two juveniles were in possession of a gun while standing behind one of the apartment buildings on East Elm, near the Head Start building.

One of the individuals fired a round into the ground after which the group ran from the scene.

Witnesses saw the three run into an apartment and told officers were to find them.

When confronted, the three were uncooperative and a search warrant was acquired to go through the apartment.

The search turned up a pistol believed to have been used and the three were taken into custody.

The three are facing charges of unlawful use of a weapon, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
