WESTPHALIA, Mo. — The Fatima Comets defeated Russellville 11-1 in five innings Tuesday.
Jonathon Backes had three hits, three runs and four RBI for the Comets. Will Robertson had a hit, two runs and an RBI, and Drew Bax and Jacob Crede each had a hit, a run and two RBI. Tony Swarthout, Hunter Hennier and Steven Brandt each had a hit and a run scored.
Jordan Malzner had two of Russellville’s three hits, with Seth Kuda getting the other.
Logan Bexten pitched all five innings for Fatima, allowing an earned run on three hits. He struck out six and walked two.
Corey Minor was the losing pitcher for Russellville, throwing two innings and allowing seven runs — five earned — on four hits and three walks.
Fatima (8-6) plays Thursday at Blair Oaks. Russellville (6-7) plays today at Jamestown.
Fatima won the JV game 3-1.
