JCHS Theatre to perform 'Wonderland'

Jefferson City High School Theatre will bring audiences into a whimsical world during its upcoming production of “Wonderland,” an adaptation of the classic story of “Alice in Wonderland.”

Zachary McKinney, JCHS teacher, said the school’s version has a “twisted and darker ending,” focusing on Alice, a broken-hearted girl coping with the “demons of depression.”

“The audience will see a show like they have never seen come from JCHS and an Alice that is unique in quality that stands very differently a part from other versions,” McKinney said.

Luci Kasoff stars as Alice, and Noah Gernander plays the White Rabbit. The Queen of Heart will be performed by Tylee Ciolli, while Ember Write takes on the role of Mad Hatter.

The play will take place at the Miller Performing Arts Center. Shows run at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 22 and April 23. The performance on Sunday, April 24 will be at 2 p.m.

General admission tickets cost $7 for adults and $5 for children and students. Reserved tickets are $10 for everyone. Advance box office tickets are on sale April 20 and April 21 from 5-7 p.m. Prior to the performances, tickets are on sale 6-7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1-2 p.m. Sunday.
