PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Freddy Galvis hit an RBI double off Jonathan Papelbon with two outs in the 10th inning to lift the Philadelphia Phillies over Washington 3-2 Sunday, ending the Nationals' seven-game winning streak.
Bryce Harper set a career high by homering in his fourth straight game, hitting a solo shot against Jeanmar Gomez (1-0) for a 2-1 lead in the 10th. The Phillies then rallied off Papelbon (0-1), their former closer.
Pinch-hitter Andres Blanco hit an RBI single with two outs to tie it. He scored when Galvis drove a ball over left fielder Jayson Werth.
YANKEES 4, MARINERS 3
NEW YORK (AP) — Alex Rodriguez, dropped three spots to sixth in the batting order, hit a two-run homer that snapped an 0-for-19, two at-bats shy of his career high, and New York stopped a four-game losing streak.
Masahiro Tanaka (1-0) topped old pal Hisashi Iwakuma (0-2) in the first major league pitching matchup of former Japanese teammates, a game that was broadcast live on television back home — at 2 a.m. in Tokyo. The two played with Rakuten in Japan from 2007-11.
Brett Gardner had three hits, including an RBI double, and scored the tiebreaking run on a fifth-inning wild pitch.
Dellin Betances and Andrew Miller combined to strike out all six batters they faced, with Miller working the ninth for his third save.
RAYS 3, WHITE SOX 2
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Matt Moore (1-0) struck out 10 over 6 1-3 innings, allowing two runs and five hits, and Brandon Guyer tied a career high with four hits.
Moore (improved to 4-1 in five starts against the White Sox, Alex Colome got five outs for the Rays' first save this season.
Jose Quintana (1-1) gave up three runs, seven hits and had six strikeouts in six innings for Chicago, which has lost two straight after winning five in a row.
METS 6, INDIANS 0
CLEVELAND (AP) — Steven Matz (1-1) struck out a career-high nine and allowed three hits over seven innings. Given a six-run, second-inning lead, Matz retired the side in order three times and allowed two runners in the same inning once.
Corey Kluber (0-3) gave up six runs and nine hits in six innings, struck out eight and walked one. He is 9-19 since winning the 2014 AL Cy Young Award.
New York scored three runs in the first and three more in the second. The Mets were helped in the second when center fielder Rajai Davis two fly balls in the sun and Kluber made a throwing error.
Michael Conforto and Lucas Duda both drove in two runs.
BRAVES 6, MARLINS 5
MIAMI (AP) — Rookie Mallex Smith hit an RBI single against Edwin Jackson (0-1) with two outs in the 10th inning as Atlanta completed a three-game sweep after arriving in Miami 0-9.
Atlanta blew a 5-0 lead, and Ichiro Suzuki's RBI single on an 0-2 pitch from Jason Grilli (1-0) with two outs in the ninth tied the game for Miami, which is 0-5 at home this year under new manager Don Mattingly.
Matt Wisler, playing catch in the bullpen between starts, came and and pitched a 1-2-3 10th for his first career save.
TWINS 3, ANGELS 2
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Oswaldo Arcia's single down the left field line scored Byron Buxton in the 12th as Minnesota completed a three-game sweep.
Trevor Plouffe had three hits and an RBI and Kyle Gibson gave up two runs on four hits in seven innings for the Twins, who have won three straight after starting the season 0-9. Michael Tonkin (1-0) struck out four in two innings for his first win.
Albert Pujols hit his 562nd career home run.
PIRATES 9, BREWERS 3
PITTSBURGH (AP) — Andrew McCutchen homered for the second straight day, and Matt Joyce and Gregory Polanco each had three of Pittsburgh's 17 hits.
Juan Nicasio (2-1) allowed three runs over six innings for Pittsburgh, giving up all the Milwaukee offense in the fourth after three perfect innings to start the game.
Zach Davies (0-1) was pounded by the Pirates for the third time in seven career starts, getting charged with six runs — five earned — nine hits and three walks in 2 1/3 innings.
BLUE JAYS 5, RED SOX 3
BOSTON (AP) — Aaron Sanchez (1-0) allowed two hits in seven innings of one-run ball, and Jose Bautista drove in two runs with a solo homer and a double.
Edwin Encarnacion added two singles and an RBI for the Blue Jays, who had lost two straight and were 1-4 against the Red Sox. Kevin Pillar had three singles and made two nice catches in center after being dropped from leadoff to eighth in the batting order.
Travis Shaw hit a two-run homer off closer Roberto Osuna for Boston, which had won three straight.
Steven Wright (0-2) gave up two runs and six hits in six innings.
ASTROS 5, TIGERS 4
HOUSTON (AP) — Jose Altuve led off Houston's first inning with a solo home run and had three RBIs, and George Springer also hit a solo homer as Houston won its first series this season.
Mike Fiers (1-1) gave up four runs and seven hits in 5 2/3 innings with five strikeouts. Anibal Sanchez (2-1) was tagged for five runs — four earned — and eight hits in five innings with eight strikeouts.

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Eric Fryer had three hits, including the go-ahead double with two outs in the eighth off Ross Ohlendorf (2-1). A backup to All-Star catcher Yadier Molina, Fryer got his first start this season and is 6 for 6 at the plate.
Matt Carpenter and Jedd Gyorko hit solo homers for St. Louis, which has won three of last four. Ten of the Cardinals' 21 homers this season were hit in the three-game series against the Reds, who have lost five of six.
Kevin Siegrist (2-0) got four straight outs, and Trevor Rosenthal struck out his last two batters in a perfect ninth for his third save.

CHICAGO (AP) — Nolan Arenado homered twice off Jon Lester (1-1), and Tyler Chatwood pitched seven innings in combining with Miguel Castro and Jake McGee on a three-hitter.
Jason Heyward doubled with one out in the ninth and Anthony Rizzo was hit by a pitch with two outs before McGee struck out Kris Bryant for his third save.

Josh Reddick's sacrifice fly off Joakim Soria (1-1) broke an eighth-inning tie after Billy Burns tripled into the right-field corner.
John Axford (2-0) induced three consecutive groundouts in the eighth, and Ryan Madson pitched a one-hit ninth for his fourth save.
