Prep Track: Blair Oaks at Eldon

ELDON — The Blair Oaks girls track and field team finished fourth Thursday in the Eldon Maroon and Gold Invitational.

Centralia won the team title with 126 points with Eldon taking a close second with 123. School of the Osage finished third with 107 and Blair Oaks had 81.

The teams scores for the boys were not available.

Alexa Stegemann had a runner-up finish for Blair Oaks in the 100-meter hurdles (17.2), while Rebecca Schroeder placed fifth (18.3).

In the shot put, Cassie Twehus’ finished second (35-2) and Cassidy Prenger placed sixth (31-6).

Sarah Farrell had a busy meet, taking third in the triple jump (32-10), fifth in the 200-meter dash (28.3) and helping the 4x100-meter relay team finish second (53.7).

Stegemann, Olivia Sieg, and Jessie Holstein were also on the 4x100-meter relay team.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Kayla Jones, Emily Yaeger, Kallie Kerperin and Taylor Scott placed fourth (4:29.2).

Sarah Wolken (83-5) and Maggie Savage (76-6) finished third and sixth, respectively, in the javelin.

Jessie Holstein came in fourth in the 200-meter dash (28.2).

Yaeger (2:30.6) and Scott (2:32.9) ended up third and fourth, respectively, in the 800-meter run.

Annette Peterson (86-4) edged out Baylee Bellin (85-6) in the discus, placing fourth and fifth, respectively.

In the 400-meter dash, Kayla Jones ran to a fifth-place finish (1:05.7).

On the boys’ side, Jason Otto, Kaleb Cox and Josh Hensen each notched wins.

Otto ran the 3,200-meter run in 10:25 on his way to the win. Cox won the discus (137-6) while Hensen took first in the javelin (139-6). Paul Karsten took fifth in the javelin (116-10).

Cole Brenneke finished runner-up in the 1,600-meter run (4:58).

The 4x400-meter relay team of Brenneke, Bo Thomas, Jeremy Forck and Dalton Bridges placed second (3:40).

In the pole vault, Jordan Brenneke finished sixth (10-0).

Blair Oaks will compete Tuesday in the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Invitational.
