Library re-opens after water main break

Missouri River Regional Library re-opened Monday morning after being closed because a water main broke near the building at about 3 p.m. Sunday.

The library operated Monday without bathrooms or drinking fountains.

The main that broke was between the main building and the water meter on the south side of the building, near the grassy park area.

City officials saw water bubbling up into the park area and onto High Street. The city notified the library, and Director Claudia Schoonover responded to the scene and saw water running into the library's garage area.

No actual water got into the main building, according to library officials.
