College Volleyball: Owls finish 2-2

OLATHE, Kan. - The William Woods Owls went 2-2 over the weekend in action at the MidAmerica Nazarene Rachel Magana Memorial Tournament.

The Owls started the event with a 25-20, 25-20, 25-21 win against Benedictine.

Tori Wiley (Helias High School) tied for the match high with 14 kills and also had three digs. Brittney Engelbrecht (Helias High School) led all players with 41 assists and had three kills and seven digs.

William Woods then lost to Evangel by a score of 25-14, 25-19, 25-23.

Engelbrecht had a match-high 29 assists and added one kill, two aces, one block and four digs. Wiley had three kills.

The Owls then came back to beat Baker 26-23, 17-25, 25-21, 25-11.

Engelbrecht racked up 60 assists in the victory, surpassing 2,000 for her career in just her sophomore season. She also had 18 digs.

William Woods ended the event with a loss to the host school by a score of 26-24, 25-14, 25-14.

Engelbrecht had 26 assists, two kills and four digs, while Wiley had four kills, one ace and two digs.

William Woods is now 10-9 on the season.
