Special needs prom gets Tebow Foundation blessing

"A Night to Shine," a prom hosted for people with special needs, will be hosted Feb. 12 at Capital West Christian Church in Jefferson City, thanks to a recent sponsorship by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

More than 100 churches in 41 states and seven countries will take part in the Night to Shine project simultaneously.

The goal is to offer an unforgettable prom-night experience, centered in God's love, for those ages 16 and older who have special needs.

Guests will enter on a red carpet and receive VIP treatment, including hair and make-up stations, shoe-shining, corsages and boutonnieres.

The event will feature a karaoke room and dancing. Everyone will be crowned a king or queen.

The Tim Tebow Foundation sponsored 44 events for the inaugural night earlier this year, where 15,000 volunteers honored more than 7,000 guests.

More than 20,000 people are expected to attend Night to Shine 2016.
