Prep Soccer: Helias drops two

The Helias Crusaders lost two games Friday in the Capital City Invitational, falling 3-2 to Smith-Cotton in double overtime and 3-1 to Poplar Bluff.

In the opener, Braden Remmert and Nick Brandt had unassisted goals. A penalty kick won it for Smith-Cotton in the second overtime period.

Twenty minutes later, the Crusaders returned to the field against Poplar Bluff. Remmert had a goal on a penalty kick for Helias' lone score.

Helias (6-5) hosts Quincy Notre Dame on Tuesday.
