Police: Man dies after being struck by train in Sullivan

SULLIVAN, Mo. (AP) - A 38-year-old man has died after being struck by a train in downtown Sullivan.

According to Sullivan Police Lt. Patrick Johnson, officers responded to a call about a man being hit by a train between the Clark Street and Elmont Road crossings.

Authorities say the man was struck around 10:30 a.m. Thursday by an eastbound Burlington Northern Santa Fe train.

An investigation is ongoing.
