Three injured in two Jefferson City collisions

Three people were hurt in two separate wrecks on Wednesday in Jefferson City.

Police say a two-car crash at Eastland Drive and U.S. 50/63 injured Caden Wilkerson, 22, Jefferson City. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment following the 8:19 p.m. wreck.

The crash reportedly occurred when a 2011 Honda Civic driven by Alexia Leal, 19, Jefferson City, made a left turn from southbound Eastland toward the eastbound entrance ramp to the highway. Leal crossed in front of a northbound 2009 Mazda driven by Wilkerson. Wilkerson was not able to stop when Leal crossed in front of him.

Leal was not hurt.

At 5:17 p.m. Wednesday, two vehicles collided at the intersection of Amazonas Drive and West Truman Boulevard.

Police report a 2011 Chevy Cruze driven by Pascal Buechter, 27, Jefferson City, was crossing the intersection from a private driveway. Beuchter crossed in front of a 2009 Pontiac G6 driven by Haley Mathews, 20, Mexico, Mo., as she made a left turn from Amazonas to southbound Truman.

Two passengers from Mathews' vehicle -- Neisha Shivers, 19, Mexico, and Misty Lynn, 25, Auxvasse -- were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of injuries.
