The Jefferson City Lady Jays picked up their ninth win of the season Wednesday, defeating Hickman 6-3 in a tennis dual at Washington Park.
Singles winners for the Lady Jays were Athira Nambiar (6-4, 6-2), Erica Dunn (6-1 ,6-4), Esther Ruboneka (5-7, 6-0, 10-8 match tiebreaker), Bailey Patrick (6-2, 6-3) and Haley Watson (6-0, 6-3). Falling was Susan Meyer (5-7, 6-3, 8-10 match tiebreaker).
Winning in doubles for Jefferson City was the team of Nambiar and Dunn (8-1). Falling in doubles were Ruboneka and Watson (4-8), and Meyer and Patrick (8-9, 6-8 tiebreaker).
The Lady Jays (9-2) play host to Battle at 4:30 p.m. today.
