Centralia man convicted in fatal crash

CENTRALIA, Mo. (AP) - A central Missouri jury has convicted a 35-year-old man of first-degree involuntary manslaughter for a vehicle crash that killed a 12-year-old girl.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1LLxs66) that an Audrain County jury on Tuesday found Aaron M. Wormington guilty of first-degree involuntary manslaughter for the November 2013 car crash that killed the girl.

Prosecutors said in a release that Wormington is scheduled for sentencing Dec. 7.

Wormington was driving a car with the child in a passenger seat when he tried to pass a pickup truck on a road in Mexico, Missouri. His car hit the left side of the truck. Wormington's car went into a ditch and overturned, killing the girl.
