Your Opinion: Think logically about climate

Dear Editor:

I'd like readers to think about this logically for a second. We are being warned that not only will climate get worse but according to the models we should be in the midst of climate chaos. If the predictions were true then going to solar, wind and hydro power would be the worst things we could do. Why, they depend on the climate and if the alarmists are right then a power source that depends on a climate that is radically changing and becoming highly unstable is the last thing we want to invest in.

The rapidly growing super tornadoes and hurricanes will rip wind mills to shreds, destroy tide generators and toss flat solar panels around like toys; super hail will smash solar panels, drought will dry up the lakes for hydro electric and create great clouds of dust that will block the sun and cover solar panels; while rising oceans will flood out tide power generators not destroyed by the super hurricanes.

Coal fire plants in the U.S. are shut down and fossil fuel prices will be so high due to the new carbon taxes that people won't be able to afford them. The vision is a bleak world where other countries have increased carbon production while America is a storm-torn desert waste land where power becomes unreliable causing the death of millions.

Am I concerned? No. Why? Simply because the evidence doesn't support their claims. Ice in the Arctic and Antarctic is increasing and has been for years and the poor 97 percent just can't explain it and they refuse to respond to the evidence that temps have not increased in 18 years and no major hurricanes have made landfall in the USA during Obama's term as president.

If they are serious about the effects of a dangerous climate then there is only one real solution and that is they need to take the state of Georgia's lead and support the building of nuclear power plants. These have no CO2 emissions and the electricity produced is cheaper, safer and more reliable than the others. These don't kill birds or sea life and the creation of solar panels is expensive and creates toxic waste. Plus nuclear power plants are tough; you can crash a plane into one without even cracking the walls. Is there really any other logical choice with the view of climate they offer?
