Demand is rising for Becky Stephenson's baked goods - so much so that she's expanded her Jefferson City bakery to a larger space.
Becky's Cupcakes & More, which opened in the Capital Mall food court in August 2014, closed its original location Sept. 25 to reopen Oct. 1 at 1406 Missouri Blvd., Suite C, in Jefferson Plaza in late September.
"We just needed a bigger place," Stephenson said. She makes the bakery's pastries from scratch, with help in the store from her family.
The new space allows for a full dining area, as well as a bigger counter and display case.
"We are expanding our menu to gluten sensitive, and I have also added some new baked goods," Stephenson said. The bakery's standard muffins, scones and donuts have been supplemented with new cinnamon rolls, breads, coffee cakes and more, in addition to the desserts like cupcakes, pies and cake pops that customers already appreciate.
The new operating hours for Becky's Cupcakes & More are 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m.-noon Sunday.
