Pedestrian hit by car in Jefferson City

A Jefferson City man received minor injuries Tuesday afternoon when a car struck him while he was crossing a street.

Police report Brett Wingate, 18, was transported to a local hospital by private vehicle following the mishap, which occurred at 4:13 p.m. at U.S. 50/63 and Eastland Drive.

Wingate was crossing the roadway when he was hit by the front of a car turning right onto Eastland from the highway's westbound off-ramp. The driver of the car, Joseph Andrews, 27, Columbia, reported no injuries.
