Helias soccer tops Mexico 4-2

MEXICO, Mo. - The Helias Crusaders scored four times in the second half Thursday in a 4-2 win against the Mexico Bulldogs.

Braden Remmert had two unassisted goals, Grant Stokes scored on an assist from Sam Heckart, and Nick Brandt scored on a Stokes assist.

Helias (10-6) hosts Hannibal on Saturday.

The Crusaders won the JV game 10-0. Elliott Lammers had two unassisted goals, Kiefer Schmidt scored on assists from Grant Mengwasser and Jack Rundle, Luke Mercurio scored on a Luke Mertens assists, Carter Toebben was assisted by Aubrey Scott, Carson Mudd was assisted by Jack Hoey, Mertens scored on an assist from Mudd, and Rundle scored unassisted. Mexico also scored an own goal.

Ray Evans got a shutout in his first start in goal for the JV team (11-4).
