Your Opinion: University's link to abortion

Dear Editor:

I was reading a letter that appeared on Nov. 19, in which the writer was encouraging us to notify the University of Missouri Curators to re-instate the association of the University with Planned Parenthood.

This would allow additional unborn babies to be murdered here in Mid-Missouri. The writer further stated: "I know that such personal decisions must reside with the women who face them along with their attendant life-long consequences." The consequences for the unborn baby is far worse than any consequences the mother might have!

Regardless of the backbone of the chancellor in this circumstance, just maybe he thought that the university shouldn't be associated with the only organization in Mid-Missouri that was involved in the murder of unborn babies.

The writer went on to say, "I feel confident that Interim Chancellor Foley will stand up to the Legislature and reverse the decisions made by the previous chancellor with regard to Planned Parenthood, restoring MU to its previous stature as an educational institution where free inquiry is pursued and encouraged."

Maybe this writer didn't see the video of a university professor trying to "get some muscle" to help her evict a reporter from where the demonstrators were located.

Is that her definition of "an educational institution where free inquiry is pursued and encouraged?"

I look for the curators to "cave" once again, after all it's their nature.

These liberal progressives, continue to want more and more government spending on various issues, to the tune of $18.5 trillion in debt, but fail to understand that due to their own selfishness, we have 54 million fewer citizens alive, since Roe v Wade.

Not all of these would have been taxpayers, but many would have been. Anything our legislators can do to slow or stop the murder of unborn babies, I applaud.
