The new location of Power Overload Training Systems in Holts Summit is double the size of its old location, growing from 1,400 square feet to 2,800 square feet. Located at 170 W. Simon Blvd., the new fitness center is across the road from the previous one.

Accomplished personal trainer Bryan Beanland is bulking up more than just the muscles of the fitness enthusiasts of Callaway County.

Beanland - who holds four different personal-training certifications as well as three national power-lifting titles, two world championships and two world records - is also doubling the size of his Holts Summit fitness center, Power Overload Training Systems.

Starting next week, Power Overload will operate in a 2,800-square-foot space at 170 W. Simon Blvd. in Holts Summit, moving from its original 1,400-square-foot location across the road at 184 W. Simon Blvd., which opened in August 2014.

"It started out as a training studio. I only personal-trained people there," Beanland said. "The longer I was there the more people were like, "Hey, I've got a buddy. Can they come in and work out?' It became more of a fitness center environment rather than a personal-training studio."

The gym's membership - 70 members at one time - began to outgrow the first location's 27-person maximum occupancy.

With the expanded focus on fitness, Power Overload will expand its operating hours from 14 to 24 hours a day, and gym members can sign up for six-month contracts with an adjusted pricing structure.

"Before, I just needed to keep the gym open. But now I can actually afford to be a little bit more flexible on my memberships," Beanland said.

The more spacious environment will allow for some equipment improvements, including updates to the cardio offerings.

"I want to start a healthy coalition here in Holts Summit," Beanland said. "I want people to know that if they have a question about training or questions about exercise and wellness they can come to me. There's just nothing else like this in Holts Summit that promotes health and wellness like this."

Beanland is a nationally-recognized personal trainer who has worked with a variety of clients including several professional athletes.

"I want people to know that I am the face of health and wellness in Holts Summit. That's kind of my goal," he said. "It's imperative that everyone who comes to my gym gets results."
