Men's Wrestling: Loethen earns second

KEARNEY, Neb. - Central Missouri's Ty Loethen turned in a second-place performance Saturday in the 165 pound division of the Nebraska-Kearney Open.

Loethen (Helias High School) defeated Gage Anderson of Nebraska in the second round after receiving a first-round bye.

Loethen pinned Michael Billingsley of Air Force in just over two minutes to advance to the quarterfinals. After defeating Wyoming's Kyle Pope in a 10-4 semifinal decision, Loethen fell 3-2 to Nebraska's Dustin Williams in the championship match.

The Mules return to the mat Dec. 5 at the Buena Vista Open in Storm Lake, Iowa.
